Trump's visa executive order could have big impacts on Tennessee

Trump's executive order directs federal agencies to crack down on fraud and abuse of the program and generate more reports on it, Repko says.

Trump signed the order targeting the programme popular with Indian technology professionals at the Kenosha, Wisconsin headquarters of tool maker Snap-on Inc yesterday. Trump will also instruct the Department of Homeland Security to ensure that H-1B visas are not used to undercut U.S. workers and wages. Dubbed "Buy American and Hire American", the directive follows a series of recent Trump reversals on economic policies. "The H-1B program was created to fill gaps in America's workforce with highly-skilled foreign workers, but as we've seen in recent years, the program has been abused and exploited at the expense of American workers and most- qualified foreign workers", he said. They said it's important President Trump keeps the focus on mending the program- not getting rid of it.

The 220-day review proceedings will attempt to move the current H-1B programme towards a more merit-based system, steering it away from the random lottery under which it now operates.

The country that's going to be affected the most by this new order is India, and several politicians and business leaders have already voiced out their concerns towards the new restrictions of the program that are going take place.

Man in custody after Calif. shooting near Catholic Charities
Randalls just started working for PG&E- his close friend, Jonathan Gilbert, said the father of two was excited about his new job. Officers responding to the scene saw a black man running, who got on the ground once he saw the officers, Dyer said.

The American Iron and Steel Institute said Tuesday "the executive order is a positive step in ensuring full enforcement of existing Buy America laws and ensuring the steel industry remains competitive".

The order comes as part of the President Trump's campaign to put "America First". "Under such circumstances, the United States will block visa applications seeking low wages", said Joshi.

They believe that President Trump is serious about bringing back jobs to the US. The 457 Visa programme, again favoured by Indian workers, allowed the businesses to hire from outside countries and retain them for a period of upto four years. "Many of the changes to the H-1B program contemplated by the administration would require legislative action or rulemaking and would take time to go through the necessary processes".

"Right now, H-1B visas are awarded at a totally random lottery".

Iran's Incumbent President Registers To Run In May Elections
Ahmadinejad registered for presidential election along with his close aide, former vice-president Hamid Baqayee. However, Ahmadinejad said Wednesday that the Supreme Leader never barred him from rerunning for the presidency.

The tech industry has argued that the H-1B programme is needed because it encourages students to stay in the USA after getting degrees in high-tech specialties, and that they can not always find enough American workers with the skills they need.

Last year, Disney was accused of taking advantage of the H-1B visa scheme to lay off American technology workers, who were forced to train their foreign replacements.

There's an annual quota of 85,000 new H-1B visas (with 20,000 reserved for master's degree holders).
