WWE SmackDown Results 9 May 2017, Winners & Video Highlights

With Backlash 2017 just under two weeks away, though, that's no longer the case. In tonight show, more matches are expected to announce plus builds up Backlash PPV. In a bout that was intense and quick-paced to say the least, Randy Orton appeared to be on fire.

The WWE Champion, Randy Orton, makes his return to SmackDown Live after being absent last week. That obviously meant that Jinder Mahal would somehow be involved.

The show kicked off with Randy Orton who told the crowd that he lost to Bray Wyatt at Payback because Jinder Mahal interfered. Besides that major title matchup, "The Face of America" Kevin Owens will defend his US Championship against "The Face That Runs the Place" AJ Styles. And of course, it will end with Nakamura shoving his knee right through Ziggler's face for the win. Of course, Styles has to interrupt this segment as well. At the backstage, Charlotte was still arguing with Naomi about what just happened during the match. Natalya sweeps Lynch off of the rope then pins the Irish Lasskicker for the win. Lynch plans to "outbond" the Welcoming Committee and she wants the three of them to fight the Welcoming Committee at Backlash. Charlotte and Naomi have chose to group together, plus they've gotten even more assistance in the form of Becky Lynch. The referee takes it from him so he can't use it as a weapon and while the referee takes his eyes off of the match, Rowan pokes Harper in the eye. Erick Rowan won. Okay...sure. Out comes Nakamura. Nakamura challenged Ziggler to a match in London.

Breezango vs. The Ascension up next with the Fashion Police prevailing.

And Timo Mensah, emergency like (against City) to help the team, strong legs, energy, but it's another one that we miss. They have managed only two wins on the road in this calendar year and that came against Crystal Palace and Liverpool.

Finally, The Usos and Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango) will go head-to-head for the SmackDown tag team championship.
