Officer almost dies from drug overdose after traffic stop

Police were able to stop the vehicle where they say they could see the driver, 25-year-old Justin Buckle, and the passenger moving around suspiciously inside.

According to the police report, white powder was found on the auto seat, floor and shoes of one of the suspects in the vehicle.

While Mr Green had worn gloves and a mask during the search, a colleague noticed white powder on his shirt when he returned to the police station.

East Liverpool Police Officer Chris Green was at the station when his partner pointed out he had a little fentanyl dust on his uniform, according to Police Chief John Lane. Paramedics who were previously called to the station for Buckel began attending to Green, immediately giving him a dose of the opioid antidote narcan. Green's fellow cops gave him a dose in nasal spray form and took him to the hospital, where doctors were reportedly forced to administer three more doses to get him totally recovered.

This type of overdose has become so prevalent that the drug fentanyl has changed the way first responders do their jobs, reports The Atlantic. Police believe the powder was Fentanyl.

Bradley Beal adds another flop to his collection against the Celtics
The Wizards had approximately four players tonight: John Wall , Bradley Beal , Otto Porter Jr ., Markieff Morris, and that's it. Even though Wall has been superior statistically, it hasn't mattered as much to the results as Thomas' performance.

"They called an ambulance for [Green] and the ambulance responded for him", Wright said.

The incident highlights the danger to police and the public of accidental exposure to fentanyl, which is 50 to 100 times more powerful than heroin, according to COAT, which is led by Montgomery County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services.

"He said, 'I don't feel good, ' and passed out", Lane told InsideEdition.com.

An officer caught Green before he fell to the floor. "By then, my thumb, my finger is already in it", Green said.

Though Green's experience was life-threatening, it could have been far worse, Lane said.

Netflix recently had the same issue with a hacker released 10 episodes of Orange Is The New Black after their demands weren't met. However, a report from Deadline claims that the hackers stole the fifth installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

"Even in the hospital, we monitor people very closely when we give them this drug because taking too much of it can make someone stop breathing", Hoyt said. "All you have to do is walk into any room, flip it in the air, and people are going to start dropping out", Wright says.

Both Collins and Buckle were charged with tampering with evidence, but authorities expected more charges would be filed, WFMJ reports.

But fentanyl isn't the only illicit street drug with the same deadly attributes.

On Saturday, the East Liverpool Police Department posted a message to Facebook, calling on the state government to draft legislation "to protect our safety forces from these harmful drugs".
