Justice Dept asks United States judge to reconsider ruling against Trump sanctuary order

"Consistent with this authority, over the years, the Department has tailored grants to focus on, among other things, homeland security, violent crime (including drug and gang activity), and domestic violence", Sessions wrote.

The new filing comes in the wake of a memo released on Monday in which Attorney General Jeff Sessions formally endorsed a narrower interpretation of Trump's order, saying that the only funds the government meant to withhold were certain grants tied to law enforcement programs.

The legal definition had been a matter of debate, as local governments and law enforcement agencies cooperate with federal immigration authorities on many different levels. Yet instead of going after any city or county that doesn't comply with ICE's requests, the executive order will target jurisdictions that specifically don't comply with a law to share information with the federal government for immigration purposes.

As far as the memory aspect is concerned, there will be 4GB of RAM along with 32GB of expandable default storage space. Interestingly, another rumor said that the Galaxy Note 8 will have an edge-to-edge foldable display.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions has given an order to prosecutors stating they should seek the full charges in each criminal offense, reversing key Obama administration violations on drug offenses and conflicting with the goals of the White House to combat drug abuse, established conventions of addiction treatment, and what policy solutions to the drug epidemic should look like.

The judge issued the ruling in response to two lawsuits, one brought by the city of San Francisco, the other by Santa Clara County. It sent warning letters to nine localities in April, though most of the cities that received them denied being out of compliance.

So far, Memorial Day weekend should be a beauty - with clear skies and highs in the mid 70s in the forecast . Showers and storms will continue throughout Sunday night and into the early hours of Monday morning.

The DOJ said the memo "contradicts numerous bases upon which the court relied" in arriving at its decision to block the order.

Sessions' directive impacts federal prosecutions across the nation, but it has raised particular concerns about the Kansas City office where a yearslong struggle has been underway to curb what the defense bar calls prosecutorial abuses.

While city officials say Providence does comply with federal law, they also acknowledge police officers don't go out of their way to assist U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Key reserve and 2015 NBA Finals MVP Andre Iguodala's status was unclear after he missed Game 2 with soreness in his left knee. Jonathon Simmons , who started for Leonard, led San Antonio with 17 points in the half. "It looked pretty collective to me.
