White House torn over Mueller's role as pressure grows

The expansion of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation would represent the clearest legal threat to date for Trump, who has long maintained that he is not personally under investigation - and who reportedly pressured former FBI Director James Comey to say so publicly.

On PBS on Monday, Ruddy said that Trump's consideration of moving to fire Mueller was "pretty clear by what one of his lawyers said on television recently".

Ruddy argued that Mueller should not have taken the job of special counsel because he was under consideration for the other position, and had had the private meeting with the president for the Federal Bureau of Investigation director appointment.

President Donald Trump may consider firing Robert Mueller, the special counsel overseeing the Russian Federation investigation.

Christopher Ruddy, chief executive of conservative group Newsmax Media, Mr Ruddy was at the White House on Monday, but USA media reported that he did not meet Mr Trump while there.

The speaker listed the policy issues that congressional Republicans were focused on like a bill on the House floor this week to improve accountability for veterans' health care, telling reporters, "We are focused on solving people's problems".

Tottenham Hotspur: Kane late strike rescues England at Hampden
Maybe the clock runs out but you never ever stop. "Today we've done that". "I think it is a huge moment for the team". However, Kane slammed in at the far post deep into stoppage time to break the hearts of the Tartan Army.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions heatedly denied on Tuesday having an undisclosed meeting with Russia's ambassador to the US and declared it was a "detestable and appalling lie" to suggest he was aware of or took part in any collusion between Russian Federation and the election campaign that sent Donald Trump to the White House.

Rosenstein said that, under the special counsel regulations, he is the only department official with the authority to get rid of Mueller. "I think there's a conflict there". Justice Department rules prohibit the dismissal of a special counsel without cause.

"Mr Ruddy never spoke to the President regarding this issue,"White House press secretary Sean Spicer said later". "With respect to the subject, only the president or his attorneys are authorized to comment".

Both Rosenstein and Sessions are testifying Tuesday on Capitol Hill.

"I appointed him; I stand by that decision, " he said.

"I think he should let Bob Mueller do his job, do his job independently, and do his job quickly, because I think that that's what he would want to have happen", Ryan told conservative commentator Guy Benson.

DC police seek arrest of Turks for melee, angering Erdogan
With two men arrested on Wednesday and two arrested immediately following the incident, the total number facing charges is now 18. A video posted online showed men in dark suits chasing protesters and punching and kicking them as police struggled to intervene.

The revelation came after Ruddy was at the White House on Monday for a meeting with Chief Strategist Steve Bannon.

While Trump as president would be within his right to fire Mueller, that potential move is largely seen as problematic for a president already plagued by suggestions he have overstepped his boundaries in his interactions with Comey.

Rosenstein appointed Mueller to oversee the Russian Federation investigation on May 18. She asked whether he has seen "any evidence of good cause" to fire Mueller.

The latest appointments from Robert Mueller's special counsel investigation could be a more ominous indication of trouble on the horizon for the Trump administration. The political implications of firing Mueller would be meteoric, and perhaps too self-destructive even for Trump.

But people close to Mr. Trump say he is so volatile they can not be sure that he will not change his mind about Mr. Mueller if he finds out anything to lead him to believe the investigation has been compromised. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., asked Sessions whether Trump records his conversations in the White House.
