'Ready Player One' Trailer Breakdown Explains the Iron Giant and 80s References

Throughout the clip of the '80s-themed (but still futuristic) action-adventure flick, we see Wade's hometown in OH, where trailers are stacked one top of each other in tight layers.

From filmmaker Steven Spielberg comes the science fiction action adventure "Ready Player One", based on Ernest Cline's bestseller of the same name, which has become a worldwide phenomenon.

The film, which also stars Rajesh Tailang, Ankur Bhatia and Sunil Upadhyay, is all set to hit the theatres on August 18. Adding, "As an actor it has been an interesting and emotionally challenging experience".

Steven Spielberg is bringing the book to the big screen, and today at San Diego Comic Con the first Ready Player One teaser was released to the world. Protagonist Wade Owen Watts (Tye Sheridan) is one of many people who spend their time in the Oasis, a virtual world where anything can happen. Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) becomes the first player to successfully navigate the first level of the test, sparking a high-stakes worldwide race to crack the game's code. Starring in this sci-fi madness are Tye Sheridan, Mark Rylance (in every Spielberg movie lately), T.J. Miller, Simon Pegg, Ben Mendelsohn, Olivia Cooke and many more.

"The Iron Giant is a real major player in this story", he confirmed. Whether any of them made the final cut or not can be seen when Ready Player One finally reaches theatres on March 30th, 2018.

The futuristic movie features such 80s icons as The Iron Giant, Freddie Krueger, and the DeLorean from Back to the Future. The movie's script was written by Cline, Zak Penn (The Incredible Hulk, The Avengers), and Eric Eason (A Better Life).

"You can do anything you can possibly imagine", said Spielberg.

Tim Scrivner said bomb squads from Bixby and the nearby city of Tulsa responded to the explosion at about 10:30 p.m. on Monday. The individual or individuals involved in the incident vandalized the building and slashed tires of vehicles at the center.
