Tabling a resolution in the Assembly to congratulate the women's cricket team, Fadnavis said India's prestige has gone up due to the "scintillating" performance of these players.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was presented with a signed bat by the Indian women's cricket team that recently participated in the ICC Women's World Cup and brought laurels to the country. He had also tweeted soon after the match to hail the team's performance.

Mithali, who has played just 10 Tests in her 18-year long global career also stressed the importance of playing the traditional format, which she termed as "ultimate test" for any cricketer.
