Donald Trump-Russia investigators ask White House for documents about Michael Flynn

The document request is one more sign Mueller's team is expanding its investigation beyond Russian Federation to the business dealings of Trump and his team.

Federal investigators are examining whether former national security adviser Michael Flynn was secretly paid by the Turkish government to lobby against a critic of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, according to a report from The New York Times.

Investigators also want to determine whether Flynn paid a Turkish businessman to help hide the source of the payments, which amounted to $530,000.

Trump approval in GOP-leaning poll drops below Obama's lowest
White voters with no college degree, a key part of the president's base, disapprove by 50 percent to 43 percent. However, the poll did find that 58 percent of people found Trump to be "strong".

Flynn's former lobbying firm, the Flynn Intel Group, was paid $530,000 to represent Ekim Alptekin, a Turkish businessman, during the final months of the USA presidential campaign, according to foreign agent registration paperwork filed with the Justice Department.

Former U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, Preet Bharara, said the New York Times report on Friday night eclipses previous reports that Mueller is working with more than one grand jury.

Witnesses interviewed by Mr Mueller's team claim two $40,000 payments from Flynn Intel Group to Inovo are being investigated as suspected bribes to Mr Alptekin.

Red Sox pitcher David Price going on disabled list, reports say
Since returning from that injury, Price has a 5-3 record and 3.82 ERA in 11 starts this season since returning on May 29. We'll have more when the Red Sox name a replacement starter and determine what happens next with Price.

The special counsel's office declined to comment on the Times' report. Mueller is attempting to determine whether the Turkish government was behind any of that money. Trump has publicly stated in the past that he believes Mueller should restrict his investigation on Russia's involvement in the election and not expand into his or his associates' finances.

The Times reported that prosecutors have been investigating Flynn's business dealings with a Turkish-American businessman who worked with Flynn past year, and are trying to determine if the Turkish government was behind payments to Flynn.

Investigators also asked about Flynn's paid speaking engagements at Russian companies for which he received more than $65,000 in 2015, as well as some of his consulting firm's clients that included the Japanese government.
